Two hikers were injured on Wednesday morning when a tree fell on them while they were on the Fragrance Lake Trail near Bellingham, Washington. The incident occurred around 8:30 a. m. , prompting a swift response from emergency services. South Whatcom Fire Chief Mitch Nolze confirmed that fire crews collaborated with Larrabee State Park rangers to rescue the victims trapped beneath the tree.

Both individuals were subsequently transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center for treatment. This incident underscores the risks associated with hiking in forested areas, particularly during windy or stormy weather. Local officials are urging hikers to remain vigilant and prepared for unexpected hazards on trails.
