The Bellingham City Council approved a bid from Faber Construction for trail improvements in the Hundred Acre Wood. Parks and Recreation Director Nicole Oliver stated that construction is expected to commence by the end of July and finish by February 2026. Faber Construction, known for its work in Whatcom County, recently completed projects like the James Street roundabout and the New People’s Bank in Fairhaven. The improvements are designed to enhance local recreational opportunities and promote biodiversity in the area.
