Mobile blood donation stations to make stops around Bellingham this July

Bellingham, WALocal News

Bloodworks NW will deploy mobile blood donation stations in Bellingham, beginning next Thursday, to combat a severe blood supply shortage. The organization particularly seeks donations of type O blood, which is often in high demand. The first stop will be at Sehome Haggen, followed by City Hall on July 7, and concluding at Western Washington University on July 15. Each mobile station will operate from 9 a. m.

to 3 p. m. and is open to all eligible donors. The initiative emphasizes community involvement as local blood donations have not kept pace with hospital needs. Bloodworks NW encourages residents to schedule appointments at their donor center on W.

Bakerview Road as well. With summer approaching, the urgency for blood donations typically increases due to seasonal factors affecting donor turnout. Engaging the community through these mobile events can help ensure a stable blood supply during critical times.
