Council Roundup Bhargava selected for upcoming council vacancy

His appointment is temporary, as he must run in the upcoming November election to retain the seat. The council also reviewed the Wilburton Transit-Oriented Development Area Land Use Code Amendment, which aims to enhance affordable housing and sustainable urban living. This amendment has garnered support from the Planning Commission, indicating a collective commitment to community development.

Additionally, the Jubilee in the Community program has marked 16 years of providing essential home maintenance assistance to residents facing challenges. In 2024, the program saw a significant increase in projects completed, with 953 volunteers contributing their time and skills. To further celebrate diversity, the council issued a proclamation honoring Sikh Heritage Month, highlighting the importance of the Sikh community in Bellevue and the surrounding region.
