The SR 520 Trail, a significant addition to the local infrastructure, opens to the public on December 20, 2017, providing a 2. 7-mile bicycle and pedestrian path that connects Seattle to the Eastside. This trail is thoughtfully designed to accommodate users of all abilities, featuring a generous 14-foot width and a concrete barrier for safety. Along the trail, visitors will discover 11 viewpoints, allowing them to appreciate breathtaking views of the lake. The opening celebration is organized by Choose Your Way Bellevue, Cascade Bicycle Club, and the City of Bellevue, inviting community members to partake in festivities that include complimentary hot chocolate and opportunities to win prizes.
