Tweet to Win a Tour of the East Link Light Rail Tunnel

Bellevue, WALocal News

As construction progresses on the East Link Light Rail Tunnel in Bellevue, Sound Transit has completed the mining of the tunnel, which is set to open in 2023. In an effort to engage the community and promote local businesses impacted by the construction, the Bellevue Downtown Association is launching a Twitter contest called Loyal to Local. This contest will take place during the Live at Lunch summer concert series, where participants can enter by taking photos with a promotional display. Each tweet featuring the hashtags #LoyalToLocal and #SoundTransit counts as an entry, and there is no limit to how many times one can enter. The contest concludes on September 13, with seven lucky winners chosen for a private tour of the new tunnel in Fall 2018.

To enter, participants must be at least 18 years old and prepared to navigate a construction site. This initiative not only fosters community engagement but also highlights the ongoing developments in local transportation infrastructure. The East Link light rail project represents a significant enhancement to Bellevue's transit network.
