Bellevue Arts Museum Its Lit.

Bellevue, WALocal News

Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) is set to shine this winter during the Bellevue Magic Season, building on the success of the recently reimagined Bellwether Arts Week. With its unique model of not having a permanent collection, BAM provides a dynamic experience for visitors, showcasing fresh and innovative artworks that emphasize audience engagement over traditional exhibitions. Executive Director Benedict Heywood articulates this vision, referring to BAM as "an art hall" dedicated to celebrating diverse human creativity in art, craft, and design from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The museum will enhance its architectural presence by opening third-floor windows for the first time in 15 years, allowing natural light to illuminate its displays, along with two new exterior neon sculptures. Upcoming exhibitions include the Biennial Glasstastic, which focuses on the works of both established and emerging Northwest artists, and an exclusive preview party for Dylan Neuwirth’s OMNIA project.

The museum also features the Polaroid collections of Robert E Jackson, showcasing personal and painterly themes. Additionally, BAM offers free admission on the first Friday of every month and invites students to visit for free every second Wednesday, making art accessible to a broader audience. With its commitment to community engagement and innovative art displays, BAM continues to be a vital cultural hub in Bellevue.
