BDAs 45th Annual Celebration Recognizes the Growth and Evolution of Downtown

At the Bellevue Downtown Association's largest Annual Celebration, held on February 7, 2019, over 500 leaders gathered to celebrate the growth and evolution of Downtown Bellevue. Su Development was awarded the Placemaking Award for their SOMA Towers project, which significantly enhances the skyline and cultural landscape of the area. Stacy Graven received the John Boespflug City Builder Award, recognizing her 28 years of dedication to the Meydenbauer Center and her role in community development initiatives. Keynote speaker Margaret Meister, president and CEO of Symetra Financial, emphasized the importance of diversity and community engagement, highlighting the company's $100,000 donation to local shelters. David Downey, president of the International Downtown Association, shared insights on urban design trends, underscoring the role of public-private partnerships.

The event showcased how collaborative efforts can create vibrant, people-oriented urban spaces. The BDA aims to continue fostering such partnerships to enhance the Downtown Bellevue experience. The celebration reflected the community's commitment to growth and cultural vitality.
