City of Bellevue Offers Assistance for Reopening Businesses

Bellevue, WALocal News

The City of Bellevue has launched a series of new support options to aid local businesses and organizations in safely reopening during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The economic development team is offering guidance on adapting operations in compliance with public health regulations, with city staff available to answer questions and clarify regulations. The city has also expedited the permitting process to facilitate expanded outdoor seating for restaurants and designated curbside pickup areas for retailers. These streamlined options are particularly beneficial for restaurant owners looking to increase patio dining space, arts and cultural nonprofits planning drive-in events, and retail businesses that need curbside areas for online order pickups. Bellevue's economic development experts have noted a rising interest in these resources and will continue to assess needs based on community feedback.

Chief Economic Development Officer Jesse Canedo emphasized the importance of hearing from the business community as they work through this unprecedented situation. Existing resources include free technical advising offered through (re)Startup425, a collaborative initiative with local partners. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to visit the COVID-19 Resources page for additional information.
