Bellevue, WALocal News

The Bellevue Jazz & Blues Festival, a beloved annual event in the community, is embracing a virtual format for its 13th iteration due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. From October 5th to 9th, the festival will feature more than 20 live performances streamed back-to-back from the Resonance Theater in Downtown Bellevue. This reimagined event, now called the Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series, showcases a diverse array of jazz and blues artists, ensuring a rich musical experience for viewers. The festival aims to support local musicians during these challenging times while providing a safe and engaging way for the community to connect through music. Organizers, led by Mike Ogliore of the Bellevue Downtown Association, emphasized the importance of creativity in adapting to the current landscape rather than canceling the event outright.

Attendees can enjoy the festival for free by streaming it from the festival's website or Facebook page. By encouraging viewers to order takeout or cocktails, the festival fosters a sense of shared experience, reminiscent of past gatherings. This year's innovative approach highlights the resilience of the arts community and the enduring love for live music.
