Bellevue LifeSpring Achieves 1.4 Million Goal to Support Bellevue Kids

Bellevue, WALocal News

Bellevue LifeSpring has triumphantly surpassed its $1. 4 million fundraising goal by December 31, 2020, a crucial step in supporting Bellevue's vulnerable children amid the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In a year marked by economic hardship, the organization reported a 51% increase in food assistance requests and a threefold increase in requests for rent assistance. The collaborative efforts of community partners, including significant contributions from Amazon, Microsoft, and Safeway, were instrumental in achieving this goal. Jennifer Fischer, the director of Bellevue LifeSpring, emphasized the importance of these partnerships in ensuring no child experiences hunger or homelessness.

Symetra, a key corporate sponsor, has committed to addressing barriers faced by women and at-risk youth in securing stable housing. To commemorate this significant achievement, the holiday lights in Downtown Park were illuminated in the nonprofit's colors of orange and green. The community is encouraged to contribute to Bellevue LifeSpring’s ongoing efforts to support families in need. This initiative not only showcases community resilience but also highlights the critical role of local organizations during times of crisis.
