Neighborhood Walks Return Stroll Along Bellevue Sidewalks with City Leadership

Bellevue's Neighborhood Walks program is set to resume, inviting residents to join City Manager Brad Miyake and other city leaders for in-person guided walking tours. Starting July 27, 2021, these walks provide an opportunity for interactive discussions about neighborhood developments and local issues, marking a return to community engagement after a year dominated by virtual events. This initiative, which began in 2017 as Summer Chats, has evolved into a more structured program aimed at strengthening ties between residents and city leadership. The program coordinator expresses enthusiasm for reconnecting with the community and emphasizes the importance of these dialogues. No registration is necessary, allowing residents to spontaneously participate and share their perspectives.

The Neighborhood Walks will take place in various neighborhoods, with the first scheduled at Somerset Elementary School. Additionally, an online citywide walk will occur on August 3 for those who prefer a virtual format. This initiative highlights the city's commitment to responsive governance and community involvement.
