Boys Girls Clubs of Bellevue Celebrates 70 Years of Championing Youths

Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue (BGCB) has been a crucial support system for local youths since 1952. Serving over 13,000 children and teens through 15 clubs, BGCB offers a wide array of programs focused on academics, health, and leadership. CEO Tim Motts highlights the heightened importance of youth development work in light of the pandemic, particularly regarding mental health and food insecurity. In response to urgent community needs, BGCB provided 62,278 meals and over $600,000 in scholarships during 2020, transforming its services to assist vulnerable families. The Champions of Youth Gala on April 23 aims to raise more than $600,000 to support ongoing programs and celebrate the achievements of the youth.

This first in-person event in two years promises a festive atmosphere, featuring dinner, inspiring stories, and auction items. Motts expresses pride in the resilience of young people and commitment to continued support in the Bellevue community. BGCB remains dedicated to adapting its services to meet the evolving needs of local families for the next 70 years.
