Public hearing regarding human services needs in Bellevue

Bellevue's Human Services Commission will hold a public hearing on housing and human services needs on October 20 at 6 p. m. at City Hall. This hearing will collect community input to inform funding recommendations for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which supports low- and moderate-income residents. The Parks & Community Services Department funds critical services, including food access, shelter, and behavioral health, to address disparities faced by these residents.

The CDBG action plan, mandated by federal regulations, will detail the intended use of funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Following the hearing, the draft plan will be open for public comment for 30 days. The meeting will be available online and in person, providing ample opportunity for community engagement. Written comments must be submitted by noon on October 20. The commission aims to ensure that vital services meet the evolving needs of the Bellevue community.
