Bellevue Community Court grand opening Oct. 7

The Bellevue Community Court will open on October 7 at the Bellevue Library, a collaborative effort among King County District Court, the City of Bellevue, and the King County Library System. This court serves non-violent misdemeanor cases, focusing on addressing the underlying issues that lead to criminal behavior. Judge Lisa O’Toole stated that assessments will be conducted to determine each participant's challenges and strengths, facilitating accountability and support. Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson noted the court's goal of improving outcomes for participants, thereby reducing recidivism. The court will be held every Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.
