This early heat wave, attributed to dry air and a compressing cold front, is notable as Laredo typically sees its first 100-degree day around April 10. If this forecast holds, it will mark one of the earliest instances of such high temperatures on record. The National Weather Service warns that humidity levels could plummet to as low as 5-10%, exacerbating the heat and increasing the risk of wildfires. Although Austin is not expected to hit 100 degrees, the combination of low humidity and strong winds is concerning for fire safety.
