According to the National Weather Service, 0. 5 to 1 inch of sleet and snow fell in the area, leading to hazardous icy patches on roads and sidewalks. Cold Weather Shelters will remain open until 10 a.

m. Wednesday, providing refuge for around 550 individuals. Austin-Travis County EMS reported multiple cold-related incidents and injury collisions, highlighting the need for public caution in these frigid temperatures. Residents are advised to dress in layers and remain vigilant for signs of cold-related illnesses. The city encourages individuals to call 9-1-1 for emergencies only, while other inquiries should be directed to 3-1-1.
