On January 24, 2025, at approximately 2:38 p. m. , a shooting incident in Austin, Texas, led to the tragic death of 17-year-old Victor Ekozeme. The Austin Police Department received reports of a vehicle crashing into a fence and a ditch at 10525 Wildhorse Ranch Trail, which later revealed that the vehicle had been shot at. Upon arrival, officers found Ekozeme deceased and another victim who was subsequently treated and released from the hospital.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case, which indicates that the victims were specifically targeted by the suspects as they arrived at an apartment complex. After sustaining gunshot wounds, Ekozeme attempted to drive away but lost control due to his injuries, leading to the vehicle crash. The suspects managed to flee the scene in a different vehicle. Authorities assure the public that this incident is considered isolated, but they emphasize the importance of community involvement in providing information.
