APD Detectives Arrest Suspect in Deadly Conduct Series

The Austin Police Department (APD) has successfully apprehended Oscar Casillas, a 24-year-old Hispanic male, in connection with a series of deadly conduct incidents that targeted a residence on Lyons Road. The series of events began on July 14, 2024, when the APD received a 9-1-1 call reporting gunfire in the vicinity. Following multiple incidents over the following weeks, the APD's Aggravated Assault and Gang Units intensified their investigation. On August 30, 2024, a significant incident prompted the identification of a suspect vehicle and additional leads. By September 6, 2024, six felony warrants were issued for Casillas, culminating in his arrest on September 17, 2024, with assistance from the United States Marshal Service.

As of the latest update, Casillas is out on bond while the investigation continues. The APD has urged anyone with further information to provide tips to assist in the ongoing case. The community's safety remains a priority as the police work to resolve this troubling series of events.
