Clocks Fall Back Across Texas on November 2 as Daylight Saving Time Ends
Texans will set their clocks back one hour at 2 a. m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, as Daylight Saving Time concludes. Most regions will revert to Central Standard Time, while El Paso and Hudspeth counties will transition to Mountain Standard Time.
This shift will lead to earlier sunsets; Dallas will see dusk around 5:38 p. m. , while Houston will experience it at 5:34 p. m. Public safety officials stress the importance of checking smoke and carbon monoxide detectors during this time.
The Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office emphasized, “A properly functioning smoke detector can make the difference between survival and tragedy. ” This seasonal transition serves as a reminder for residents to ensure their safety devices are operational. Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, prompting another clock adjustment. As winter approaches, Texans will face shorter days and longer nights, highlighting the need for safety awareness.
