Hurricane Helene: Braves-Mets games moved to Monday doubleheader

Atlanta, GALocal News

Due to the forecasted impact of Hurricane Helene, Major League Baseball has announced the postponement of the Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets series. The games will now be played on Monday as a doubleheader at Truist Park, with the first game set to begin at 1:10 p. m. The second game will follow 40 minutes after the first concludes.

In a statement, the Braves clarified that tickets purchased for Wednesday's game will not be valid for the rescheduled doubleheader, while tickets for Thursday's game will be honored. Additionally, season-ticket members affected by the cancellation will receive credits towards their 2025 memberships. This postponement is particularly impactful as both teams are vying for the final National League Wildcard spots, making the doubleheader crucial for their playoff aspirations. The decision underscores the league's focus on ensuring the safety of players and fans during extreme weather events. With heavy rain and potential flooding expected, the move aims to mitigate risks associated with Hurricane Helene.
