Tropical Storm Helene has officially formed in the northwest Caribbean Sea, evolving from Potential Tropical Cyclone 9. With winds currently reaching 45 miles per hour, it is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane by Wednesday afternoon as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico. Meteorologist Brian Monahan from Severe Weather Team 2 has alerted that metro Atlanta will start feeling the storm's effects late Thursday into Friday morning. Along its expected path, heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts are predicted, particularly across north Georgia. Residents are urged to stay informed and prepare for possible severe weather conditions.
