Thriving Together Atlanta Presents Free Equitable Dinners in September

Atlanta, GALocal News

The Thriving Together Atlanta initiative is set to host several free Equitable Dinners this September, focusing on the ongoing impact of systemic racism on health and well-being in Atlanta. This public art project, a collaboration with the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and other organizations, seeks to engage community members through arts and cultural events. Each dinner will include a short play that serves as a catalyst for meaningful conversations among attendees, who will include artists, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. The events are designed to foster connections and promote discussions around complex social issues in a welcoming environment. The first dinner is scheduled for September 22 at Charles Drew Charter School, followed by events at East Point City Hall, Westminster, and Emory University.

Admission is free, but attendees must register due to limited seating. Camille Russell Love, Executive Director of the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, invites the community to participate and explore ways to address racial discrimination together. The initiative is part of a larger public art project that received a $1 million grant through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge.
