Tragic Collision on I-75 Claims One Life, Injures Another

A fatal accident unfolded on Interstate 75 in Cobb County, Georgia, on the early morning of August 24, 2024, involving a tractor-trailer and a Nissan Altima. The crash occurred around 2:27 a. m. when the Freightliner, driven by a 46-year-old man, began to slow down due to traffic conditions. Following closely behind was the Altima, driven by 21-year-old Kejaunaye Rollins, who collided with the rear of the truck's second trailer.

The impact caused Rollins' vehicle to spin, leaving it partially on the highway. Tragically, Anetrya Johnson, a 28-year-old passenger in the Altima, was pronounced dead after being transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Rollins sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the truck driver was not injured in the collision. The Cobb County Police Department is leading the investigation and is encouraging anyone with information about the incident to reach out for further assistance.
