Apply to Serve on the Arlington Salary Commission

Arlington, WALocal News

The Arlington Salary Commission is currently accepting applications from local residents to help assess the salaries of elected officials. This commission, comprised of five members, plays a crucial role in ensuring that compensation is reflective of the responsibilities held by officials. Meetings are held every other year, typically in the spring of even-numbered years, to review salary standards and make recommendations. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be at least 21 years old, registered to vote, and must reside within the city limits of Arlington. Importantly, city employees and their immediate family members are disqualified from serving on the commission to maintain impartiality.

The application window is open from February through March, with interviews slated for April. Interested residents are encouraged to visit the City of Arlington's website for further details and to apply. This initiative highlights the city’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance, ensuring that elected officials' compensation is fair and justified.
