Police Blotter, August 29 - September 4, 2025
Anacortes Police responded to a series of incidents this week, starting with a delivery driver who became locked inside a business after an employee left without noticing. Officers also addressed a potential DUI situation at the Washington State Ferry Terminal, where a man exhibited slurred speech and had several empty beer cans in his car. This led to charges of DUI and reckless endangerment, as an eleven-year-old child was present in the vehicle. In another case, police arrested a man for second-degree trespass at a store after he was found with items used for smoking controlled substances. A woman reported a confrontation with alleged scammers in the 900 block of 11th Street, claiming that they were panhandling and had a history of deception.
During the encounter, she alleged that a man spat on her after she recorded the incident. These incidents reflect ongoing issues of public safety and community vigilance in Anacortes. The police continue to address both petty crimes and more serious allegations to maintain order in the community.
