From August 22 to 24, 2025, Anacortes Police responded to various incidents, including a theft and a protest-related hit-and-run. A man reported his electric scooter stolen from a shop; security footage showed a man taking it away in a vehicle. Officers located the scooter at the owner's residence after identifying the vehicle's license plate. They also addressed a persistent barking dog complaint, advising the owner on local ordinances. Additionally, a semi truck disabled on 12th Street caused a temporary roadblock while the driver sought repairs.

During a protest, a truck struck a pedestrian and reportedly hit protestors, prompting an investigation. Police confirmed probable cause for third-degree theft in the scooter case and returned it to its rightful owner. The police continue to monitor community safety amid these incidents.
