The cargo ship “Alberta” is currently loading petcoke from HF Sinclair Refinery at Port of Anacortes Pier 2. This terminal is vital to the local economy, generating over $53 million in annual wages and supporting nearly 1,000 jobs. Direct employment includes 552 positions such as longshoremen, truck drivers, and seafood processors, while 440 indirect jobs encompass mechanics and product suppliers. The operations at the port reflect its essential role in maintaining the region's economic stability and employment levels. Local industries depend on the infrastructure and workforce that the port provides, ensuring a continuous flow of goods and services.
