Whistle Lake Hike
On July 30, 2025, the Friends of the ACFL will host a guided hike at Whistle Lake from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, led by Ellie Kravets. The event aims to educate participants about the ecological significance of lakes and their role in the community forest. Attendees will traverse less traveled trails, enhancing their outdoor experience and connection to nature. For those who can't attend the guided hike, the local library will provide a handout for a self-guided hike option. This initiative is part of a Lake Hike Series, emphasizing the importance of local water bodies and their preservation.
The event not only fosters community engagement but also promotes environmental stewardship among residents. It underscores the role of libraries in facilitating outdoor activities and raising awareness about local ecosystems. Overall, this hike represents a meaningful opportunity for residents to connect with nature and learn about their environment.
