Anacortes police responded to various incidents between July 11 and July 14, including a motorcycle parked on the sidewalk, abandoned by a man with a suspended license. Officers were alerted to a "jury duty" scam involving a 65-year-old man who withdrew money but hesitated before depositing it into a Bitcoin machine. They also investigated a suspicious electronic device tied to a post, which was confirmed to be a timing monitor for the Ragnar Relay event. In a separate incident, a transient man was charged with theft after stealing about $17 worth of merchandise from a store he had been banned from. Officers responded to a domestic dispute where a couple was arguing due to fatigue from their day.
Additionally, an 18-year-old man reported being scammed on Instagram, losing $180 to a fraudster who threatened to share a nude photo.
