Police Blotter, June 13 - 19, 2025

Anacortes, WALocal News

Between June 13 and June 19, 2025, Anacortes Police addressed several incidents, including a theft and a minor collision. A staff member at Anacortes Middle School alerted officers about a 13-year-old student driving on school grounds, leading to a conversation with the student's mother. Officers later cited a man for theft after he attempted to steal items from a store, which were recovered due to the shopping cart’s anti-theft system. Police defused a potential fight involving four individuals, clarifying that it was a misunderstanding and warning them about disorderly conduct. Officers also responded to a report of a woman camping illegally on private property, ultimately enforcing a trespass notice after she refused to leave.

On June 19, a driver reported being rear-ended in a hit-and-run incident, though no injuries occurred. These events highlight ongoing local law enforcement efforts to maintain order and address community safety concerns. The Anacortes Police continue to monitor such incidents to prevent escalation and ensure compliance with local laws.
