Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested Justin McDowell, 45, for two armed robberies that occurred within a week in November 2025. The first incident took place on November 2 at a marijuana retail store, where a man wearing a Halloween mask brandished a shotgun and stole cash from the register. A subsequent robbery on November 7 at a gaming store featured similar details, including the suspect's mask and weapon. Investigators utilized video evidence and conducted interviews, leading to McDowell's identification as a suspect. Following the second robbery, police located him in the 2900 block of East Broad and seized evidence linked to both crimes.

McDowell now faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and remains in custody with a bond set at $50,000. The swift police response and collaboration with local law enforcement partners were crucial in quickly apprehending the suspect. These incidents underscore ongoing concerns about crime in the Spokane area, particularly involving armed robberies.
