Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police apprehended Justin McDowell, 45, on November 7, 2025, in connection with two armed robberies in Spokane. The first incident occurred on November 2 at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street, where an assailant wearing a Halloween mask threatened an employee with a shotgun. Police obtained video evidence that helped identify McDowell as a suspect. The second robbery happened at a gaming store just days later, featuring a similar disguise and weapon. Investigators linked both crimes through witness interviews and collaboration with law enforcement partners.

McDowell was arrested in the 2900 block of East Broad, where evidence related to the robberies was seized. He faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and remains in custody at the Spokane County Jail with a bond set at $50,000. The swift police response highlights an ongoing effort to address crime in the region.
