Capitol Hills Nook Cranny Books has lost its lease You can help it find a new home

Seattle, WALocal News

Nook & Cranny Books, a cherished bookstore in Capitol Hill, has lost its lease and is raising funds to secure a new location. Owner Maren Comendant has reached out to the community for assistance, stressing the urgency of the situation as they navigate the financial challenges of moving. Established in 2022, Nook & Cranny has become a staple for local book lovers, and Comendant is exploring small business loans for long-term sustainability. However, immediate funds are crucial to cover the upfront expenses of relocation, including increased rent and inventory rebuilding. Comendant envisions the benefits of a larger space, such as more seating for visitors, enhanced event hosting capabilities, and greater display opportunities for local artists.

This move represents not just a logistical challenge but also a chance to expand the bookstore's community impact. The campaign to support this transition is ongoing, and Comendant invites supporters to contribute. Nook & Cranny is currently located at 324 15th Ave E, and more information about the campaign can be found on their website.
