Whetzel will stay on the Whitman County Commission

Chad Whetzel will retain his seat on the Whitman County Commission, winning 4,594 votes to Cody Finch's 4,116. Whetzel was appointed to the District 3 position earlier this year after Michael Largent's resignation. In Pullman, Bryan MacDonald triumphed over John-Mark Mahnkey for the Ward 1 City Council seat, while Deena Bayoumi secured 2,960 votes to win the District 4 seat on the Pullman School Board. Additionally, other local council races resulted in victories for Trevor Vance and Tawny Szumlas. Close races in Malden and LaCrosse have led to a manual recount beginning December 1, with results certified on December 5.

The Whitman County Elections Department will employ a coin toss to resolve any ties. Local measures, including several levies for various services, passed with strong support, reflecting community priorities. Whitman County's election results indicate an engaged electorate focused on local governance.
