Edmonds College offers two new pathways for careers in robotics and AI
Edmonds College has launched two new programs to meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals in technology and manufacturing. The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in robotics and artificial intelligence is tailored for students with an associate degree, focusing on hands-on learning through a hybrid curriculum. Courses are designed for part-time enrollment, allowing students to balance work and study while fostering community support through small cohort groups. The accelerated professional technical certificate in robotics in manufacturing provides a swift pathway to career entry, featuring four weeks of online coursework followed by four weeks of in-person labs. Aligned with industry needs, the curriculum covers essential skills like robotic system design and AI applications.
Carey Schroyer, dean of the School of STEM, emphasized the program as a "launchpad into the future of technology. " The college aims to prepare students for roles such as robotics technicians and mechatronics technologists. For more information, prospective students can visit edmonds. edu/robai.
