The League of Women Voters of Snohomish County will celebrate the 238th anniversary of the U. S. Constitution with events from September 14 to 19. These gatherings will feature readings of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, highlighting their significance in protecting individual freedoms. “Now’s the time to get reacquainted with these important documents and the rights that they guarantee,” said League president Lisa Utter.

The events will take place at various locations, including libraries and community offices, with the final reading on September 19 at the Everett Girl Scout Office. Participants can collect free pocket copies of the Constitution and learn how to engage in defending democracy. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance civic awareness and participation within the community. By encouraging local involvement, the League aims to remind citizens of their rights and responsibilities under the Constitution. Such events are vital for sustaining democratic values and fostering informed citizenry.
