County Council Corner A campaign to make Snohomish County family friendly
Snohomish County Council Chair Nate Nehring and Vice Chair Megan Dunn launched a campaign to promote family-friendly practices across the county. The campaign includes Family Day at the County Courthouse, which featured games and activities for employees and their families, fostering community spirit. On September 13, 2025, the county will sponsor the Kayak Point Arts Fest, celebrating local arts and bringing families together. This summer event underscores the importance of community connections and outdoor enjoyment. The county aims to create internship opportunities for students, helping them gain valuable public service experience and nurturing future leaders.
Additionally, plans for a lending library at the County Campus will support employees and their families in lifelong learning. These efforts reflect a broader vision to create a supportive environment for county employees and residents alike. Councilmember Nehring, a lifelong Snohomish County resident, emphasizes the importance of valuing people and relationships in the community.
