Snohomish County Elections receives national Independence Award for outstanding service and accessibility
Snohomish County Elections earned the 2025 Professional Practices Independence Award for its Elections Explained initiative, which focused on voter accessibility and education. The initiative, launched in preparation for the 2024 General Election, leveraged community partnerships and direct voter engagement to disseminate reliable election information. It produced over 11 million impressions through more than 200 digital, print, and radio ad placements, ensuring that key messages reached residents multiple times. Local organizations, including the Snohomish County League of Women Voters and Sno-Isle Libraries, facilitated in-person Q&A events where voters could ask questions. Auditor Garth Fell highlighted the initiative's importance in connecting with voters and fostering open dialogue.
