Edmonds Author and Speaker Series presents Bryan Johnston of Deep in the Woods Sept. 25

On September 25 at 6:30 p. m. , Bryan Johnston will present his book "Deep in the Woods" at the Edmonds Waterfront Center. The book investigates the 1935 kidnapping of George Weyerhaeuser, a 9-year-old boy taken just blocks from his Tacoma home. The incident led to the largest manhunt in Northwest history, with the boy held captive in harrowing conditions.

Johnston, an 11-time Emmy award-winning writer and local author, has previously published several works including fiction and non-fiction. Tickets for the event are available for $7. 50, and online sales will end at 4 p. m. on the day of the talk.

The Edmonds Waterfront Center ensures accessibility with subtitles and assistive listening devices for attendees. This event is supported by local sponsors including the Edmonds Waterfront Center and the Edmonds Bookshop. Johnston, who resides in Lake Forest Park, hopes for the Seattle Mariners to reach the World Series during his lifetime.
