Cardboard cactus craft class at Lynnwood Library Sept. 6

Maria Casey will facilitate a cardboard cactus craft class at Lynnwood Library from 2-4 p. m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Participants will create a vibrant desert landscape using cardboard, colored pencils, and magazine cutouts, enhancing their artwork with a 3D effect.

Casey, who has a bachelor's degree in interior design from Universidad Femenina de Mexico and an art diploma from Provence, France, currently teaches art in schools within the Seattle Archdiocese. She collaborates with various organizations to help Latino and Hispanic children connect with their culture and identity through art. This bilingual program caters to both English and Spanish speakers, making it inclusive for diverse families. The event aims to foster creativity and cultural appreciation among participants. Casey's expertise in mixed media art will guide attendees in exploring their artistic potential.

This class represents an opportunity for community engagement and cultural exchange through creative expression.
