League of Women Voters of Snohomish County announces new president

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Lisa Utter became president of the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County on July 1, transitioning from her role as president-elect after Adrienne Fraley resigned. Fraley's resignation was motivated by her upcoming move to Thurston County, which she felt would hinder her ability to serve effectively. Utter has been a resident of Snohomish County since 1990 and rejoined the League in 2018, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous 12 years on the Lynnwood City Council. She has also served on the boards of several local organizations, including Community Transit and the South County Emergency Shelter. Cathy Liu Scott, the past president, expressed gratitude to both Fraley for her thoughtful decision and Utter for her willingness to lead.

The League continues its mission of empowering voters and defending democracy in Snohomish County. Utter's presidency will be supported by an executive committee, including Brenda Mann Harrison as president-elect. The board's collective experience aims to strengthen community engagement and advocacy efforts.
