Sno-King School Retirees award grants to local educators

Sno-King School Retirees awarded two grants to educators in the Edmonds School District to enhance classroom learning. Judi MacRae of Madrona K-8 received funding for alternative seating options, including floor cushions and portable lap desks for her sixth-grade math and science classes. Catherine Mathias at Seaview will use her grant to purchase copies of "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" and "Home of the Brave" for her fifth/sixth-grade class. Since 1998, Sno-King School Retirees has awarded over $154,000 in educator mini-grants, with $52,090 directed to schools in the Edmonds School District. The grants reflect the organization's commitment to supporting local educators and enhancing student learning experiences.

This initiative highlights the positive impact of community support on education. The funding helps address diverse classroom needs, fostering an engaging learning environment. Educators like MacRae and Mathias exemplify the dedication to improving educational outcomes for students.
