In fiscal year 2025, these businesses secured $232.

5 million, accounting for 13% of total City contracts. Mayor Wu emphasized the significance of a diverse business ecosystem for community empowerment and economic growth. Chief of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion Segun Idowu noted the City’s success in increasing local firm participation in contracts. The Supplier Diversity initiatives include the SCALE program, which offers grants and technical assistance to small businesses. The Department of Supplier Diversity released its annual Equity in Contracting Report, highlighting the progress made in equitable procurement.
